14 DAYS!

The number is

14.

14 days until I am done with college. I can't believe it. I am so happy, yet so scared.
This means I need to find a job and grow up.
But I won't have to take any more classes,
study for anymore tests,
prepare anymore speeches,
and write anymore 5 page papers.

I really don't feel like I'm almost a college grad.

Phone Interview was a Success

Since this is my college blog I should blog about my phone interview that took place two hours ago. Man, was I sweating during the whole thing, but the interview went well, overall.

I am wanting to go into event coordination, however I was interviewed for a sales support position. This is for the company I want to work for though.

Right away I thought it would be great to get my foot in the door and then apply for a position within the company that related more so with event coordination.

However, that changed when my interviewer said that the goal would be to move the person up in sales eventually.

I think I would like working in sales, but I am nervous. What if I hate it? I would let them down if I applied for a different job.

But I could end up loving it.

So much to think about.

But this girl has another interview December 22!!!

The cutest Christmas present ever!

My boyfriend, Colton, has been wanting a companion forever. One he can take hunting, go on jogs with, and cuddle with. A puppy! Most of his family has their own lab, and now that Colton can afford it and has time to train it, he is almost certain he is ready for one.

Colton's mom's chocolate lab had 15, YES 15, puppies two weeks ago from today. Two of them were stillbirth :( so now they are down to 13. There are only two females, and the rest are male. They are all chocolate labs. We got to visit them last weekend and they were just over a week old. Their eyes were still shut and they were still nursing off of their mom.

Colton of course had his eye out for the biggest male. He thinks he made his choice. The mom's eyes are a pretty golden. I said before you make your pick you need to see them with their eyes open, since we both love Mieka's eye color.

He is still set on the hunk of the litter. Here is Colton with his new little puppy!

End of the semester

I can't believe the semester is almost over. Man this was a fast one. I feel like I still have so much to do before the middle of December. Another thing that is crazy to me is when we get back from Thanksgiving we will only have one week of classes, then it is finals time.

This semester has been a lot different for me than others, not just because it is my last. I have been spending way more time on my homework. I have been loving the fact that I am giving speeches instead of taking tests (which is very odd for me) and I have been getting more involved in things I hadn't before.

Why now, during my last semester is all of this happening? I'm not quite sure. Maybe I became more responsible and accepted that I am almost in the real world. Maybe I know I need to make something out of myself now. I won't just be another college student in a month. I will be a graduate.

I am so excited and so nervous.

I am looking forward to Christmas, but after Christmas I start my life.

I'M GOING TO JAMAICA!

It's official! I bought my plane ticket for Jamaica yesterday and I will be going January 4-11. I am going with Enactus. I have been involved in the Heart of Homes project this semester and am looking forward to completing my involvement in Jamaica. There we will be setting up a computer lab for a high school that doesn't have the money or ability to teach their students on computers through various software. We will also be helping students learn the importance of a clean environment. We will be cleaning a dirty area in Jamaica with the help of these kids. It is going to be a lot of work, but I will enjoy every second of it. Traveling for a good cause is always something I wanted to do in college. It is a good way to end my SMSU career.

First Phone Interview!

I have been trying to find an internship or job for after December, since I'll done and all. Great news came my way yesterday. I contacted someone from metroConnections awhile back which is a a company that manages all sorts of events for other companies. They are located not far from where I live. I have reached out to a woman named Andrea who said she would keep my resume on file. She emailed me the other day saying she may be opening a full time position in early January. She asked if we could set up a phone interview.

THIS IS THE CLOSEST I HAVE COME TO GETTING A REAL JOB!!

I am so excited and have been looking at my email the past day waiting for a response. However, I am nervous. I have never done a phone interview before.

I would love to work at this company. They do exactly what I want to do. It is in a location I want to work, and I think I could learn a lot.

Wish me luck! Can't wait to update you:)

Facebook and Twitter

I have been working on my Resume and I have actually sent it out to a few companies for internships. I am so close to start looking for a job in my future career. I still can't believe it.

Now that I am close to graduation I have been thinking about my Facebook and Twitter account.

Are employers really going to look at them?
Should I delete it entirely?
Should I make a new one?

All these questions are running through my head and I am slowly starting to get paranoid that they might look at my Facebook and think I am not a good candidate for their company.

But my Facebook has so many pictures of my college experience. I have so many connections on Facebook. I don't want to get rid of all of them.

Maybe I will just dis activate my account while looking for jobs.
And make a new professional one??

So many things to think about.
